"Howdy"

Nikon D750 with Tamron 150-600mm lens.f/6.3;1/30 sec;ISO1600; taken just before sunrise. The burrowing owls have a characteristic "bob" when they are nervous/ see humans. Early cowboys in the region thought they were saying"howdy" as they rode by and called them Howdy Birds.
